James Gilchrist's Winterreise on Orchid Classics

Orchid Classics have released James Gilchrist and Anna Tilbrook's recording of Schubert's Winterreise (Winter Journey) in October 2011 which has just been chosen Recording of the Month by BBC Music Magazine. The CD is the third and final CD in their Schubert series. The first two CDs were the highly acclaimed Die Schöne Müllerin and Schwanengesang.












Endellion String Quartet at Wigmore Hall

The Quartet's three Wigmore concerts (27th October 2011, 7th February 2012 and 5th June 2012) feature works by Haydn, Tippett, Beethoven, Walton, Byrd, Britten and Elgar. They are joined by pianist Stephen Hough in June for Elgar's Piano Quintet.

Endellion String Quartet Residency at West Road Concert Hall


The 2011-12 season marks the Quartet's 20th Season as 'Quartet in Residence' at the University of Cambridge. They give six concerts between October 2011 and May 2012, each featuring a Mendelssohn quartet. Concerts also include quartets by Haydn, Mendelssohn, Walton, Britten, Mozart and Beethoven – and pianist Kathryn Stott will join the Quartet on 7th March for works by Fauré and Brahms.

Cambridge International Piano Series

Orchid Promotions manages and publicises the new Cambridge International Piano Series – due to be launched at Cambridge's West Road Concert Hall on 12th October. The Series, supported by Cambridge Pianoforte and Cambridge Corn Exchange, will consist of five concerts featuring five internationally renowned pianists – Martin Roscoe (12th October), Piers Lane (16th November), Benjamin Grosvenor (25th January), Tom Poster (15th February), and Jin Ju (2nd May).

Artistic Director, Martin Roscoe, has planned exciting and varied programmes of popular repertoire including pieces by Beethoven, Schumann, Debussy, Chopin, J.S. Bach, Rachmaninov, Ravel, Scriabin, Grieg, Liszt and many more.

Pancreatic Cancer support and information service

Orchid Promotions will also manage and market a Charity Concert in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK on 24th May 2012 at Cadogan Hall, London. The concert will feature Mozart's Requiem and Clarinet Concerto and will be performed by the City of London Sinfonia, the Holst Singers, Michael Collins (clarinet) and soloists (TBC), conducted by Stephen Layton.

Pancreatic Cancer UK
is the only national charity fighting pancreatic cancer on all fronts: support, information, campaigning and research. In its own words:

Through our dedicated pancreatic cancer support and information service we:
· provide easy access to the best and most up-to-date information on pancreatic cancer
· run discussion forums for pancreatic cancer patients, their carers and families to enable them to share experiences, advice and inspiration
· provide individual support via email and telephone

In addition we:
· fund research and other projects of benefit to patients and their families
· raise awareness of pancreatic cancer, particularly amongst GPs, policy makers and politicians and the general public, providing a powerful campaigning voice for all people living with pancreatic cancer, and their families

On 3rd June 2011, the Brodsky String Quartet gave a concert at Wigmore Hall, London with an exciting programme of Turina's La Oración del Torero (The Bullfighter's Prayer), Ravel's String Quartet in F major and Bartók's String Quartet No. 1 Op.7. Orchid Promotions managed the concert and provided marketing and PR for it.
